With a landscape theme and including atmospheric skies and moorland countryside, Yvette will demonstrate a wide range of pastel techniques for you to try, with one-to-one support throughout the day. 

Students will also learn about choosing appropriate pastel papers, making corrections in pastels, the pro's and con's of fixing pastels, and how to care for your pastels and pastel paintings. There will also be instructions on making a pastel dust collector for your easel.

Materials for the course

  • Any Soft Pastel materials and equipment you already own.
  • An assortment of Soft Pastels
  • An assortment of coloured Pastel Paper
  • A piece of charcoal
  • Pastel Pencils (A White, Cream, Grey, Brown and a Black)
  • White Tack (NOT Blue Tack as it is too oily)
  • A pastel pencil sharpener or craft knife
  • A stiff Hog hair brush (small to medium in size)
  • Baby wipes or wet wipes or a damp cloth
  • A supermarket plastic tray with no holes, i.e. supplied free with tomatoes etc.
  • Kitchen roll
  • Masking tape
  • Note pad and pencil/pen
  • Easel

We can supply all the materials you will need for a small charge.
