Needle felting by Jenni Milne
Course dates:
- Tuesday 14 June 2011
- Tuesday 28 February 2012
Needle-felting is a method of producing a matted fabric by punching fabrics and/or fibres through each other using a sharp barbed needle. We will be making a book cover for an A5 notebook (supplied) with this method.
Using felt as a base, we will punch through a variety of threads, fine fabrics and fibres so creating a design. This is a fascinating technique with endless possibilities using minimal equipment!
Materials for the course
Tools and materials are supplied but if you wish to bring your own fibres, fabrics or a selection of very thick wools it would certainly make your design even more personal. With this technique, often the simplest of designs are the most effective.
You will need to bring ...
- Any additional fibres or fabrics you wish to include
- A notebook and pen
