Colin working in his studio
Course date: Wednesday 15 February 2012
If you have used traditional oils in the past, but dislike the smell, or use acrylics or watercolours but want to try something different, then this is the course for you.
Colin will explain how to use water-based oils and how they differ from traditional oil paints. He will demonstrate a range of techniques which students will try out for themselves including building up washes, stippling, glazing and scumbling. He will also show students how to mix colours professionally, and how to avoid muddy colours on the canvas. There will also be advice on how to look after your paint and paintings.
Students will go home with a painting of their own, and an invaluable set of resource notes for future reference.
