Bring along your favourite fabric scraps and recycle them into a lovely notebook cover to fit a hard-back spiral bound notebook - supplied. Jo will also show you how to make a matching, handmade button to fasten your notebook and provide that perfect finishing touch!

Materials for the course

We will provide a hard-back spiral bound notebook (A5), and all the tools, material and equipment required to make your button.

You will need to provide:

  • Your sewing machine (and instruction book if possible)
  • Sewing thread
  • Your sewing kit: scissors, pins, unpicker etc etc
  • Fabric scraps for the notebook cover 
  • Similar quantity of fabric to make the facing
  • Similar quantity of fleece or thin wadding for interfacing
  • Co-ordinating ribbon(s) to make the fastening
  • A camera (optional) 
  • Notebook and pen (optional)

We will have lining and fleece/interfacing fabrics, and a limited range of ribbons available to buy if you wish.
