'Boat' by Yvette Wiltshire
Course date: Saturday 17 March 2012
If you’re new to watercolour or frequently frustrated by the results you achieve, this is the course for you, as it is designed to help you build your confidence and understand how to use this wonderful media.
Yvette will explain about equipment – easels, brushes and palettes, for example; the materials you can use such as paper, paints and so on, and she will demonstrate how to use a variety of techniques to produce a painting to be proud of.
She will also show you how to use colour, how to mix tints and tones to achieve the desired results and she will cover a range of painting techniques such as: wet in wet; dry brush; wet on dry; graduated mixed washes; lifting out and glazing; and using resist to create texture and form.
At the end of the day, you will have a valuable resource of notes, samples and experiments to take home and develop.
